Igneus Press was established in 1989, and features diverse works that have compassion and concern for the human condition.
We innovate world literature with a nod to tradition. By focusing on emerging writers, artists, and scholars, Igneus hopes to contribute to new forms of thought, life, letters, and art. Our press hopes to preserve a space for diversity and inclusion in reshaping national and international literary canons.
This is done by unearthing writers and schools of poetry that have been overlooked, underread, or marginalized in their native milieu, giving voice to authors, artists, and scholars who have been underserved by institutions.
Established in 1989 with the publication of New Hampshire poet laureate Wally E. Butt’s The Required Dance, the Press has gone on to publish over forty titles of special limited edition books by writers from all over the U.S. as well as Europe, the UK, and Asia. Igneus Press is now expanding its repertoire to include scholarly journals and art books, in a bid to unite the realms of art, literature, culture to face social issues that are too complex to resolve in traditional isolated disciplines.
