Never Enough Light, by Sanford Dorbin, 1995

0) STEEPLECHASE

She tickled toes and laughed
doing it
invented games involving
dice drapes the ice from drinks
various effigies and
handrolled handkerchiefs

others claimed she arrived
on a groovy comet

Nevertheless
she watered her plants
schooled her children, and never
never worked
both sides of the street
